Ithara

Ithara

Privacy

What Ithara knows about you, and where it goes. In plain English.

In force from 26 October 2026 · for the test version of Ithara (TestFlight)

The short version

  • The test version of Ithara reads your running workouts from Apple Health, and only if you allow it.
  • Everything it reads, and everything you tell it, stays on your iPhone. The app sends none of it to us or to anyone else.
  • It never writes to Health. No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold.
  • Accounts, the coach and friends are not in this version. Before they arrive, this notice changes and the app asks you first.

Who is responsible

Ithara is made by 4L Digital Solutions (KvK 94434972), a business registered in the Netherlands, at Brusselsestraat 8 D, 6211 PE Maastricht, the Netherlands. In the law's words, it is the controller: it decides what happens to your data.

What the app reads, and why

From Apple Health

Your running workouts, their walking and running distance, heart rate, and steps (for your cadence). Ithara asks only when you tap to connect Apple Health, never on its own, and Apple shows you each kind of data to allow or not. You can change it at any time in the Health app: tap your picture, then Apps under Privacy, then Ithara.

Ithara uses them to start your plan from the running you already do, and to judge each run as it arrives, part by part.

From you

The answers you give while setting up your plan: your race and its date, your goal, how long you have been running, your age band, your weekly distance and longest run, your best efforts, how many runs a week and which days, and whether anything hurts. You can change them on the You tab.

Ithara uses them to build your plan. Your runs, heart rate and the answer about pain are health data; here they never leave your iPhone.

Where it is kept

  • On your iPhone, and only there. Your answers, your plan and your runs are kept in the app's own storage on the phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • Your iPhone's own backup. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, the backup includes Ithara's data, as it does every app's. That backup is Apple's and yours, under your Apple Account; we cannot read it.
  • Your Apple Watch. When you send a session to your Watch, it goes from your iPhone to the Workout app on your Watch, through Apple's own system, not through us.

What the app does not do

  • Connect to a server of ours. This version has no accounts and no sign-in; the coach, friends and groups are switched off.
  • Write anything to Apple Health.
  • Show ads, contain analytics or advertising code, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
  • Sell or share your data.
  • Ask for your email address, phone number, location or routes, contacts or photos.
  • Sell you anything: nothing can be bought in this version.

TestFlight and Apple

Testers install Ithara through TestFlight, which is Apple's. If the app crashes, or if you send feedback or a screenshot from TestFlight, Apple passes it to us with what TestFlight shows developers about their testers. Apple handles this under Apple's privacy policy. We use it only to fix and improve Ithara.

Apple Health, the App Store and your iPhone's backups are Apple's services too, under the same policy.

Adults only

Ithara is for people aged 18 and over.

This website

ithara.online sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from other companies: its typeface and images come from this site. It is hosted by Hostinger, which, like any web host, keeps standard server logs (internet address, page, time) to run and protect the service, under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Because the app sends us nothing, we hold nothing from it about you. If you write to us, we use what you send only to answer you, and keep it no longer than that takes.

  • Ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object: write to privacy@ithara.online.
  • Delete what the app keeps by deleting the app. To stop it reading Apple Health, turn it off in the Health app.
  • Complain to the data protection authority where you live, or to the Dutch authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

Before accounts, the coach or friends arrive in Ithara, this notice will be updated to say what they send, to whom and why, and the app will ask you first. The date at the top changes with every version.
